🇬🇧 Jolin’s 15th new album “Pleasure” will be released in June, and the title song of the same name will be released on May 28th.
The new album “Pleasure” explores the face of “desire” through the “seven deadly sins”.
Jolin wants to emphasize that “desire is not the original sin”, but the beautiful and fragile instinct in human nature.
The first promotional picture is showing “Medusa’s Laurel Wreath of Desire” with red snakes wrapped around her head. The “snake” represents desire, temptation and curiosity. The whole visual echoes the image of the snake symbolizing danger but making people want to get closer, just like when you’re facing various different “desires”.

The concept of this new album goes back to 2022. Jolin watched a documentary which aroused her curiosity about the concept of “pleasure”. She thought that it was not only the literal translation of “pleasure”, and was also curious about what her “pleasure” was. So she started asking herself questions, constantly looking for answers, and finally completed this creative album from scratch.
When talking about “pleasure”, Jolin says that it does not only refer to sexual satisfaction, it is also an inevitable daily experience for most people. The seven deadly sins of “Pride”, “Jealousy”, “Anger”, “Gluttony”, “Lust”, “Laziness” and “Greed” are all reactions to various desires. She herself has such life experiences and will swing back and forth between “pain” and “pleasure”.

Jolin explores the various aspects of “desire” through the 11 songs of her new album “Pleasure”. This time, she not only produced the album, but was also deeply involved in writing both lyrics and music.
Jolin said, “I was stuck waiting for the right lyrics for two or three years. One day, I suddenly thought, why not give it a try? After writing the first song, I felt very accomplished, so I wrote more and more songs. Once I finished, I sent them to my agent.” She laughed and said that writing lyrics is like self-healing.
Because of her eager personality to achieve perfection during the album production process, the arrangement of one song was changed 34 times. She frankly admitted that she is a producer who constantly overthrows and rebuilds.
Finally, she shared her feelings, “The whole production process is my pleasure journey. Pleasure does not mean extreme happiness. I will feel pain first, and then feel conceited after getting satisfaction, and then return to my inner self-doubt, and it keeps repeating.”
